Aksel Lund Svindal produced a performance with just enough juice in the tank to win the first speed race of the season with victory in the Downhill at Lake Louise. The Norwegian beat Peter Fill, the early leader into second by the smallest of margins, one one-hundredth of a second, with Travis Ganong taking his first podium in Lake Louise in third.
