If she was still annoyed with having crashed three gates from home in the Giant Slalom, this was how she put that memory to bed! Mikaela Shiffrin destroyed the rest of the field in winning the opening Slalom in Aspen. Many had billed the race as a challenge for the likes of Frida Hansdotter, Veronika Velez-Zuzulova and the rest to keep the Aspen hoodoo going for team America. It turned out to be a destruction by Shiffrin on the rest of the field! A win by over three seconds for the American.
