Federica Brignone took the race win in Are with Sara Hector in second and Lara Gut-Behrami in third. Marta Bassino took fourth with Thea Louise Stjernesund taking fifth.
Bright sunshine saw Hector take the first run had from Gut-Behrami by over have a second with Brignone over a second behind the Swedish racer. Only three racers from outside the top 30 starters made the second run qualification from the 52 starters as racers chased the final qualifying spots for the World Cup Finals.
Brignone posted the fastest second run time to take the win with hector struggling on the second run to just hold on to second place with Gut-Behrami in third.
The weather has played its hand on a regular basis this winter and Brignone has matched it as she has won in fog, wind and rain this winter. The wind did its best on the first run to push her back but Brignone had the better of things on run two to take the race win.
"I'm so grateful and proud of what I did," said the 33-year-old veteran. "It's something really amazing and something special."
"The first run, I was not really happy with my run — I started really bad and I had no confidence," said Brignone. "And in the second run I said to myself, 'OK, you have to try everything because you're (far) back.'
"I didn't think it was possible today to win the race. I just tried my best to be on the podium again, it was the objective of today."
Gut-Behrami leads Brignone in the Giant Slalom standings by 95 points going into the World Cup Finals in Saalbach Hinterglemm next week with Hector secure in third.
Third place for Gut-Behrami saw her rack up her 90th World Cup podium in her career.
