Palla excited to win National Junior Title in Slalom

Victoria Palla was excited to have won the Women's Junior Slalom title in the penultimate day of racing in Tignes. Palla took the win in the junior category ahead of Candice Bomberg and Lois Jackson with the top five being rounded out by Giselle Gorringe and Charlotte Holmes.

This was Palla's best result of the season in Slalom, a 30.25 FIS point result, just a few days after having improved her season's best result in the National Championships result. It has been a good couple of days in Slalom for Palla.

Palla has an enormous amount of talent but also huge respect for Charlie Guest. Guest was on the start list to try and help the younger racers. While Guest had the ability to overcome Palla in the National title race, she had no answer to the young racer in the Junior Title race. Palla was fastest on both runs.

With Guest, Tilley and Reece Bell all qualified to race on the World Cup in Slalom, the future with the likes of Palla and others coming through is very bright for Britain's World Cup Women's Slalom racing. Palla is also very promising in Giant Slalom so watch out for her hunting a fit again Alex Tilley next year.

This four are ahead of the rest at the moment. The next generation showed good promise with Candice Bomberg take second from starting outside the top fifteen seeds. Bomberg started 20th and finished in 12th overall as she scored her first sub 70 point in Slalom. This is her first year of FIS racing!

Lois Jackson has had an immense National Championships and these are her last Junior Championships before she moves up into the Senior ranks next season. While not a career or season's best result in Slalom, it shows that she is showing a lot of consistency in Slalom.

This was a tough race as the fresh snow overnight saw the course break up but there was no denying the class of the top of the field as Palla stood on the podium, beaming with delight!
