Elena Stoffel retires from active ski racing

Elena Stoffel decided to end her career in top sport at the age of 28. Her last World Cup start took place in Åre, exactly where everything started at the highest level. The Valaiser had her World Cup debut in Are in March 2015.

"I have noticed in the past few weeks that I have lost the joy of ski racing and the willingness to give 100 percent is no longer there," said Stoffel. "Today in Åre my last race, where I drove my first World Cup slalom 10 years ago, is incredibly beautiful. It's like a circle that closes. I am proud of my way and very grateful for all the memories."

The B squad athlete looks back on five top 15 placements in the World Cup. She achieved her best result in March 2019 in Spindlermühle, where she took 14th place. Elena Stoffel won 2 victories and 9 podium places on European Cup level.
