Trinker new racing director of the ÖSV women

The decision about the new head of racing for the ÖSV women has been made and here too the association's leadership has placed its trust in Thomas Trinker, a man from its own ranks. The 47-year-old from Styria has worked as a trainer for the Austrian Ski Association for 22 years and was responsible for men and women in a wide variety of positions. From 2012 to 2018, Trinker had already been working as a group coach (European Cup and World Cup) for the ÖSV women for six years, most recently the long-term coach, who lives in Tyrol, was responsible for the young men.

Comments:
Herbert Mandl (Sports Director Alpine Skiing): “First of all, I am pleased that we were able to fill these two key positions early on so that we can move forward with the necessary planning accordingly. The decisions for Marko Pfeifer and Thomas Trinker clearly show that we rely on coaches from our own ranks and that the career ladder is open to the top. I'm convinced that Thomas Trinker, who is technically beyond any doubt and knows the structures in the ÖSV very well, is absolutely suitable for this head coach position. Now it's about creating optimal structures to lead our women's team into a successful future."

Thomas Trinker: “We are very excited about this task. First of all, it is about a quick evaluation of the current situation with the athletes and the responsible coaches in order to then find an optimal group constellation. We want to have a strong team in all disciplines in the future. In order to take the next step and be able to reach this high level, you need not only the right training concepts and good skiing technique, but also the absolute will to win and the necessary mental strength."
