Feuz announces end of his career

Four-time downhill ball winner Beat Feuz has decided to retire from ski racing soon.

'Pushing the limits and taking risks have been my passion in ski racing for years. My feeling was often the key to success. Now, however, my feeling tells me that the physical limits have been reached," says the 35-year-old Bernese racer.

However, the speed specialist will continue this season until and including the races in Kitzbühel: "After 16 years in the World Cup, I will end my active career as a racing driver on Saturday, 21 January. I'm looking forward to enjoying my favourite races in Wengen and Kitzbühel once again."

Beat Feuz, who was mainly active in the speed disciplines, won three medals each at the Olympic Games and at World Championships in his career. His last major title came last winter at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, when he won the gold medal in the downhill.

"I am incredibly grateful that I was able to pursue my passion for so long and am now looking forward to more time with my family and am curious to see what new challenges will come into my life," says Beat Feuz.
