Shiffrin makes it 41 wins with victory in Flachau after epic second run

It was one of the most exciting culminations to a Women’s World Cup race for some time. When all was done, Mikaela Shiffrin produced a run that made her fight for the win while Bernadette Schild battled into second place with last years winner, Frida Hansdotter taking third. Nina Haver Loeseth took fourth with Katharina Truppe giving the home support some more joy in taking fifth. Sadly for the British fans in the crowd, there was no cheer as Alex Tilley crashed out on the first run.
