It was always going to be a tough ask to retain the Alpine Combined Globe she won the previous year, especially after winning the World Championships, but with a slight chance of making the impossible happen, Wendy Holdener put up a great fight. Much depended on the Super G leg of the race but it was a little too far for the World Cup Rebel. In the end Mikaela Shiffrin won the race, her 29th career win with Federica Brignone and Ilka Stuhec joining her on the podium. Stuhec’s third place, secured her the Globe.
