Back in October at the FIS Alpine Forum comments were made about ‘hoping’ that the World Cup tour would not be hit by bad weather. After losing two races in St Moritz the weekend before and then losing both training runs and the Downhill in Val d’Isere, the women finally got a race in. A race that saw the weather try and stir things up before Lindsey Vonn took the 78th career win after an eleven month win draught, Sofia Goggia got her season back on track with second and Norwegian, Ragnhild Mowinckel scored her first podium finish after placing 16 times in the top ten. Before Goggia and Mowinckel came down Nicole Schmidhofer looked to have claimed a podium spot but was rapidly bumped down to fourth with Swiss star Joana Haehlen taking fifth.
