No joy for Tilley as she straddles on the pitch

Ski racing can be very brutal. Alex Tilley explained that she had been trying to really go for it as she attacked the first run of the Levi World Cup Slalom race. With new knolls added to the slope and only a few runs to get the feel of the slope for all the racers the day before the race, there was a new feel for the whole field. With Mikaela Shiffrin taking a commanding almost three quarters of a second lead from the first run over Wendy Holdener and Frida Hansdotter in joint second, this was high tempo slalom racing from the girls.
