The French snowboard cross team has dominated the second sprint competition of the World Cup tour staged at Feldberg, Germany today. In front of 5,000 excited spectators Nelly Moenne Loccoz and Pierre Vaultier secured a double victory for their home country with the 2014 Olympic champion securing another milestone of his career.
By winning his career's 16th World Cup race in front of World Cup leader Nikolay Olyunin (RUS) and Lluis Marin Tarroch (AND), Vaultier became the most successful male snowboard cross racer of all times ahead of Jasey Jay Anderson (CAN, 15 wins) and his fellow countryman Xavier de le Rue (FRA, 11 wins).
In the women's competition of this season's third action-packed World Cup event which had it all with tons of passes and thrilling photo finishes, Moenne Loccoz clinched her career's third therefore extending her lead in the World Cup ranking again.
Olympic bronze medallist Chloe Trespeuch (FRA) and Michela Moioli (ITA) rounded out the podium as second and third, respectively.
