For the second year, Dave Ryding left Kitzbuehel with a DNF to his name. After a first run that saw him secure an all-important second run, when over half the field crashed out, Ryding showed the World just how good a slalom skier he is. He had the 22,000 crowd in Kitzbuehel purring with admiration as he built a 0.94 second lead on Trevor Philp, the leader in the finish.
