The strong wind could not stop Lindsey Vonn from registering her 68th career World Cup win and her 13th Downhill win in Lake Louise, 16th in all events. Vonn has made Lake Louise a favourite spot on the World Cup and the defending Downhill and Super G World Cup Champion started the new speed season in determined fashion. Connie Huetter was best of the rest even though Ramona Siebenhofer challenged for second place all the way down and but for a small error in the run into the finish would have been on the step below Vonn, instead she settled for third.
