Tilley steps up to the mark and delivers in Lienz

It has not been an easy time for Alex Tilley since she made such an impressive mark on the World Cup in Soelden. She tried to make a big step up in Aspen, then Are and Courchevel but she admits maybe that she was trying too hard. So coming into Lienz, where she made her Giant Slalom debut two years ago, she explained that she tried to "forget about her race head and focus on the race head." This worked as she rose from joint 27th after the first run to 19th, with some spectacular splits at the top (second fastest) and at the bottom (fifth fastest).
