Vivianne Härri is retiring from ski racing
Neil McQuoid
30 January 2024
Vivianna Harri has decided to end her career as a ski racer. The woman from Obwalden made her World Cup debut at the giant slalom in Jasna in March 2021 and has since started a World Cup race a total of 22 times.
With 14th place at the giant slalom in Åre in March 2022, Härri achieved her best result at the highest level. Second place in the overall giant slalom ranking in the 2022 European Cup is another highlight in her career. With this result, she secured a place in this discipline for the 2022/23 World Cup season.
“After much deliberation, I decided to end my skiing career immediately,” explains the B-squad athlete. "The fire for this long-standing passion has gone out. The willingness to invest an enormous amount of passion, time and energy into my ski career is no longer there."
The 24-year-old athlete, who has taken part in almost 60 European Cup races in her career and achieved four podium places, is looking forward to the next phase of her life.
"I am eternally grateful for all the experiences and encounters in ski racing. I am now looking forward to furthering my studies in the field of tourism management and soon being able to start a new chapter in my career," says Vivianne Härri about her future.
