Marc Digruber ends career

Marc Digruber has announced the end of his active career. The 35-year-old Lower Austrian made his debut in the World Cup at the slalom in Levi in 2010 and has since competed in a total of 94 World Cup races. The slalom specialist was placed six times in the top 10 and celebrated three victories in the European Cup. In addition, Digruber secured two national championship titles in 2019 ( Slalom ) and 2011 ( Super-Kombi )

Marc Digruber: „ I noticed for myself that the time has come to draw a line. I have been subordinate to skiing all my life and I am very happy that I was able to realize my childhood dream. As personal highlights, I would mention the top 10 finishes in the World Cup, especially those in Val d’Isere and Japan. The home races in Schladming, where I was able to finish in the top ten twice, were also indescribable moments. I am now looking forward to the time with my family and will switch to police from Scheibbs in September. I can also imagine sharing my experience as a trainer with young athletes. “

Marko Pfeifer ( Racing Manager Ski Alpin Men ): „ Marc was always an exemplary athlete who subordinated everything to sport. He didn't always have it easy in his career and was often thrown back by injuries. Nevertheless, he fought back again and again and was very valuable for our team. I only wish him the very best for his future. “
