The relationship between LJMU and Inspire Snow sports may be new but Inspire Snow sports owner, 4 x Team GB Olympian Zoë Gillings-Brier has worked with Professor Close throughout her sporting career obtaining world leading, evidence based nutritional advice during the past 3 Olympic cycles. Apart from being a highly regarded professor in the academic world, Graeme is regarded as one of the worlds leading nutritionists, current working as the lead nutrition consultant for England rugby, European tour golf and several premiership football and rugby teams and individual athletes.
Graeme commented, “I’m really pleased we can support Inspire Snow sports with our nutrition placement program. It's a win win for all of us as our students build up their experience working with athletes competing on an International stage and those athletes receive some of the very best nutritional advice allowing them to focus on their training and competitions knowing their nutrition planning and preparation is on point.”
Zoë commented, “This is a really exciting opportunity for each and every athlete on the Inspire Snow sports program. We are very grateful to Graeme and LJMU for this opportunity, and of course to Emily Smith as the nutritionist we will be working with on a weekly basis. Nutrition plays a huge part in any athletes program but is even more significant here as the team live, travel, train and compete in Europe for 6 months so nutritional planning is key.”
