Early end of season for Kappaurer - Tippler skips Cortina

Elisabeth Kappaurer has to end the season early due to injury - Tamara Tippler has to miss the races in Cortina d'Ampezzo due to back problems.

Elisabeth Kappaurer has been struggling with knee problems since her arthroscopy in October and has decided to undergo another operation. The Vorarlberg native has already had a successful operation on her left knee at the Hochrum clinic. The Bezau native has to take a break for several months and thus end the season early.

"In the last few weeks it was uncertain every day how my knee would react to training on and off the piste. Good quality training is simply not possible if you are not pain-free. In order to be able to keep up with the best in the World Cup again, physical fitness is a basic requirement, which was simply no longer the case at the moment. Even if this step means another long rehabilitation phase, I am relieved to have decided to take this path," said the 30-year-old.
