Fabrice COFFRINI (AFP) wins the AIJS Photo Ski Contest Prix Armando Trovati

The annual photographic competition for the Prix Armando Trovati has been won by Fabrice Coffrini, one of the AFP photographers for his photograph of American Lindsey Vonn competing during the Women's Downhill at the 2019 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships at the National Arena in Are, Sweden on February 10, 2019.

Coffrini explained about his picture: "I pictured Lindsey Vonn, the greatest female skier of all time, jumping during the last race of her career in the Downhill at the World Championships in Are, Sweden. I managed to capture the resort of Are behind her and a ray of light shining just on her."

To take this photograph, Coffrini set up a remote.

Coffrini is the lead photographer for Agence France Presse in Switzerland since 2005 and has covered nine FIS Alpine World Championships and nine Olympic Games (summer and winter). He has also been a regular photographer on the FIS Alpine World Cup for the last twenty-five years.
