Kriechmayr benefits from early start as weather controls race

Beaver Creek has a habit of producing a race that does not quite run to form. In 2015, the last time the race took place Marcel Hirscher won a weather controlled race from bib number 4, in 2017 Vincent Kriechmayr from bib number 3 produced a race winning performance from the front as the conditions again deteriorated. Take nothing away from Kriechmayr, he took his chance and after 84 World Cup starts, now has his first World Cup win. Kriechmayr took the win ahead of the winner in Lake Louise, Kjetil Jansrud with Hannes Reichelt in third.
