Going number 1 on the first run was a huge new experience for Dave Ryding. From the moment he finished second in the Kitzbuehel Slalom, Ryding’s life had changed he acknowledged after the race in Schladming. Just wanting to clip his boots up in the lead up to doing the first run, Ryding was approached by young Austrian kids who wanted his autograph. Dave Ryding is hot property on the World Cup at the moment and following up from his momentous achievement in Kitzbuehel was always going to be tough.
