A simple text from Chemmy Alcott that just said 'Welcome to the Club' was how Dave Ryding was welcomed to the elite group of British athletes that have qualified for the Alpine World Cup Finals. Dave Ryding will join Alain Baxter (2001 in Are where he went on to finish fourth in the slalom in one of his greatest races), Finlay Mickel (2006 in Are again and he went on to finish 12th in the Downhill) and then Chemmy Alcott who went in 2007 and 2010.
