Stunning slalom win for Shiffrin in Semmering

USA’s Mikaela Shiffrin made it three wins in a row in Semmering, Austria, when she won the night slalom by 0.64 seconds ahead of Veronika Velez Zuzulova of Slovakia, with Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener in third. Shiffrin is still unbeaten on the World Cup tour in slalom so far this season. She now has a winning streak of seven races in slalom, equal to Vreni Schneider’s record of wins in the same discipline. Only Janica Kostelic has a better streak with eight wins.
