The second and final day of the British Schoolgirls races saw the Slalom race taking place on the Celiste piste before the evening Awards Ceremony. Over two fantastic days of racing, the sun was shining both days, bringing smiles to the faces of all 132 girls.
BSR Slalom
In today’s Slalom, the overall prize was won by Under 16 racer Cerys Gorringe from NLCS A, In second place was Alexandra Lilywhite from Reeds A and Genevieve Baird from Loretto A took third.
Overall winner Cerys Gorringe said: “I was so happy I could win something for my school as that was the most important thing for me. Even though I have been training really hard this year, it was still a complete surprise to beat so many girls older than me. I had hoped to do well, but I didn’t expect to do as well as I did.
“I still do some training at Snozone Milton Keynes on Sunday’s and during the school holidays, but I can’t take much time off from school. During the holidays I will train in Val d’Isere and in the summer and autumn with the Kandahar Ski Club.”
The Best Overall School prize went to Reeds A with NLCS A finishing in second and Aiglon A in third. The prize for the best unregistered team was won by St Marys Ascot A with Wycombe Abbey A taking second spot and Godolphin & Latymer A in third.
Taking the age group wins for the registered racers was Emma Peters from Aiglon A for the U21s, Alexandra Lilywhite for the U18s, Cerys Gorringe for the U16s and Giselle Gorringe for the U14s.
For the unregistered racers, many of whom don’t ski race regularly, Alice Taylor from St Mary’s Ascot A took top spot for the U21s, Gabriella Jabre from St Mary’s Ascot was the winner for the U18s, Sophia Dyvlk Henke from Godolphin & Latymer won for the U16s and Madeline Points from Wycombe Abbey A took the win for the U14s.
BSR Giant Slalom
The results from yesterday’s GS were also announced at the Awards Ceremony. Taking the overall GS prize was British Team racer Genevieve Baird from Loretto A, with Cerys Gorringe from NLCS A taking second and Giselle Gorringe also from NLCS A taking third.
Overall winner Genevieve Baird said: “I am very very happy with my GS result. I could have done better in the slalom, but GS is definitely my stronger discipline. The girls who beat me in the slalom are great skiers though, so I am really happy. I am hoping to keep on progressing. I have the English Alpine Champs in a few weeks, so hopefully will score some points there. It is so nice to race with teammates and to be with the other girls and enjoy the experience together. Its nice to talk about it at school and bring back memories.”

Loretto A took the GS Shield for the Best School, with NLCS A in second and Aiglon A in third. The prize for the best unregistered team was won by Godolphin & Latymer A with St Marys Ascot A taking second spot and Wycombe Abbey A in third.
BSR Parallel Slalom
In the Parallel Slalom, the Ladies’ Ski Club Junior Challenge Cup was won by Surbiton High A with Reeds A taking second place.
BSR Combined
There are also Combined prizes (the GS and Slalom times combined together) across all age categories. The overall Combined winner was Genevieve Baird from Loretto A, with Cerys Gorringe from NLCS A taking second and Alexandra Lilywhite from Reeds A taking third.
