After winning the Super G, Marcel Hirscher rode his luck in winning the Giant Slalom in Beaver Creak. Hirscher skied another two runs that underline his technique and ability yet was aided by the challenge of three of his rivals crashing out on the first run. Ted Ligety, Thomas Fanara and Alexis Pinturault all failed to make the finish on the first run. If people thought that this would give Hirscher a shoe in for the win, they were mistaken. Stefan Luitz and Andre Myhrer both came close to Hirscher's time on the first run but it was Victor Muffat-Jeandet and Henrik Kristoffersen that stood on the podium with the Austrian at the end of the race.
