This was Dave Ryding's third time in making the second run of a World Cup slalom this season, his fourth in all. At the beginning of the season Ryding would, he admitted, have been delighted to score another World Cup points result. Now his level of expectation has risen and he admits that while he is taking each race as it comes, Adelboden is a hard hill for him despite the long flat at the top before the steepest pitch on the tour. As he watched racers come down after the second run, the hope that some more would crash out to elevate him to a top twenty result were ultimately dashed but with 24th, Ryding edges closer to the elite top thirty and from there anything can happen. ...
