Hirscher shows the rest the way home in Adelboden

Marcel Hirscher joined Benni Raich on 28 World Cup wins and joint third on the all time list of World Cup wins with a dominant and emphatic win in Adelboden. The night before the race, the slope was being battered by rain and all but those beavering away on the course felt that the race was in danger. In the morning, two sensible but easy courses, meant that the race got under way. Hirscher nailed the first run to lead by over half a second from Felix Neureuther with Alexis Pinturault having just held off the charging Henrik Kristoffersen. When the race finished, Hirscher had emphatically won by over a second but Pinturault was in second and Kristoffersen in third. Ligety? Down in seventh. ...
