This summer started off well for Jai Geyer with the news that he has been restored to the British Team, a year after having been deselected prior to the Olympic season. With his FIS points and World Ranking in Slalom all moving in the right direction after the 2014 season, Geyer is looking forward positively for ... the new season. However, Geyer is desperately in need, like many British racers and athletes, for new sponsors to help fund his season. The Torquay Alpine Race Club athlete is trying to plan for the future with the news that his main sponsors for last season, WorldPay, have neither extended nor halted their association with the second ranked slalom skier in the UK. Racer Ready understands WorldPay will  be  unable to continue their sponsorship when it runs out in June.
Geyer, who trains with the Orsatus set up in Brides Les Bains said to his local newspaper: "I moved up the World Slalom rankings 130 places and in Great Britain terms that places me second behind Dave Ryding who went to the Olympics. My target for the season was to finish with 25 FIS points in Slalom and I ended up with 26." At the end of the season Geyer proved that he can mix it with the top names as he scored a sub 25 point result in the French National Junior Championships Slalom won by French World Cup racer Thomas Mermillod-Blondin.
Geyer is currently in Austria collecting his new Fischer skis for the forthcoming campaign but plans to be heading to the Southern Hemisphere again this summer to train and race like he did last year.
