World Cup Speed Skiing title for Farrell

In Speed Skiing, Jan Farrell won his 4^th World Cup race of the season in Idre Fjall, Sweden meaning he was crowned the overall FIS World Cup title winner. ... The Lancaster born skier who's based in Madrid and trains in Spain and Austria was an impressive 2kmh faster than the second racer at 159.49kmh, just shy of 100mph. Farrell will now go on to try and beat the Downhill Class World Record in Vars (France), an invitation only event starting on the 28th of March. The record is set at 210.77kmh (130.97mph).

In La Molina, Spain Zoe Gillings took 14^th place in the final Snowboard Cross World Cup of the season. After qualifying in 8^th, Gillings crashed into the fence on the second jump in the finals and hurt her arm, but fortunately nothing was broken.

Over in Are, Sweden, Emily Sarsfield put in two consistent performances in two Ski Cross World Cups, coming 22^nd in both races - her best World Cup results of the season. Sarsfield narrowly missed out on progressing to the top 16 on Sunday after coming out the start gate first, but then being involved in a crash further down the course.  Sarsfield will now go to the invitation-only World Cup finals in La Plagne next Sunday 23 March. In the Ski Cross Europa Cup in Arosa, Switzerland, Pam Thorburn took 13^th place on Friday despite crashing in the quarter final, which unfortunately put her out of Saturday's race. Ed Drake finished 29^th in Friday's race and bettered his placing by two in Saturday's race, coming 27^th.

In Alpine Skiing, Dougie Crawford had a strong result in Saturday's Europa Cup Finals Downhill, coming 25^th. TJ Baldwin finished in 37^th. In Friday's Super G, Dougie came 53^rd and TJ 54^th in Soldeu, Andorra. Dave Ryding and Charlie Raposo went over to North America and raced in the Canada Olympic Park Nor-Am Cup where Ryding came 2^nd and 3^rd in the two Slalom races with Raposo DNF on Saturday and placing 36^th on Sunday. At the Innekrems FIS Race, Charlie Guest won the GS on Friday after coming 2^nd in Thursday's Slalom, both races giving her significant FIS points.
