Entry Criteria

The SPS Ski Championship is a special slalom of 2 runs down the same course and is open to school teams of 4 racers and individual racers if a school is unable to make up a team of 4, from year groups 2 to 8 (whether in a junior school or senior school).

Entries will be taken up to a total of 160 racers.

All racers in a team must attend the same school and the school must ensure that all racers are competent to ski a slalom course. All those competing must be able to ski link turns.

Schools must provide the name of an official for each team entered.

Return registration form below with entry fees to show interest by Friday 14th June 2013 and full details of entrants to be sent on the Racer Declaration form by Friday 28th June 2013.

Every effort will be made to keep to the above programme but the organisers retain the right to vary it if necessary.

Race Rules

Teams must race in the year group of the eldest member.

The individual championship will be decided by the aggregate time of the two runs.

The team championship will be decided by the aggregate of the best three times for each run added together to give the overall team time.

Racers that are disqualified or did not complete the first run will be allowed to take part in the second run.

Course Inspection

The course must be inspected wearing skis and bibs. No one is allowed to ski the course during inspection. Course inspection may start from any point on the course. The first 10 minutes will be primary school racers only; the next 10 minutes will be for all racers and the last 10 minutes for secondary school racers only. Race trainers / coaches may accompany their racers providing they also wear skis.

Protests

Any protest must be made in writing at the end of the run it concerns (form available at race office) and accompanied by a fee of £10.00 which will be refunded if the protest is upheld.

The protests will be considered by the Jury and the jury's decision will be final.

Commentators Slips and Bibs

Bibs will be issued by school to a responsible adult representing that school, Bibs will only be issued if ALL commentator sheets for those racers have been completed.

Any changes to racers' names must be confirmed to the race office prior to collecting bibs.

First Aid

Will be provided by Aldershot centre

Schools should ensure that medical consent forms have been completed and are available for all racers at the championships

 Regulations

Helmets, long sleeves, long trousers and gloves are compulsory for all racers whilst they are on the ski slope. In addition Ski poles with a diameter of less than 15mm must be fitted with suitable tip protectors to increase the tip diameter to 15mm.

Bibs should be worn and numbers visible for the duration of the racing. Bibs must be handed to the Finish Marshall at the end of the Fun Dual Slalom or 2nd run if racers are not taking part in the dual slalom, failure to do so will result in a charge of £25 for each missing bib.

The wearing of helmets by ALL racers is now a requirement of the Ski Slope's insurance.

All equipment borrowed from the ski centre must be returned before prize giving.

The counter slope must be kept free of skis and any other equipment at all times.
