Nia Jenkins held on to win the second round of the premier Indoor Summer Series at Castleford. Jenkins held her nerve after the first run had seen four racers separated by just over three tenths of a second. Emma Peters took second with Rachel Ferrier in third after the first run yet it was Ella O'Neill who raised her game on the second run to take second overall with Ferrier holding on to third and the winner of the first round, Emma Peters, dropping down to fourth overall. These four were a long way ahead of fifth placed Kirsten Walton.
Walton should be congratulated for taking the game to the older racers as she won the under 14 age group with Victoria McKinlay taking second in the age group and Georgina Grace third. In the Under 16 age group Lucy Pirkhoffer from Southampton took the win with sixth place overall. Grace Neasham took second in the age group with Serena Grace in third.
Ella O'Neill took the under 18 win ahead of Rachel Ferrier and Emma Peters taking third this time. Nia Jenkins won the under 21 age group ahead of Maria Hall and Judy Reid taking the Master's age group. Holly McCarthy took second ahead of Jenny Hanson after Cathy Beck had crashed on the first run. There were no senior females racing.
