If the Giant Slalom had been a close and right affair, the Slalom was a demonstration by Alicja Krahelski of what the rest of the field will need to do if they are to stop her from walking away with the British titles at the end of the season. Krahelski destroyed the rest of the field. She won the first run by 2.89 seconds and then went on to win the second race by just under a second. Impressive ski racing. Isabella Colley and Rhona Price took a second and a third each as they tried to limit the damage being inflicted by Krahelski. Alexandra Lillywhite, Isabella Hoskins, Abigail Bruce and Olivia Ward all fought bravely to take places amongst the top five racers over the two runs.
With over fifty racers taking part in the younger age group of boys, Angus Wills was beaten by Toby Deighton in the first race yet came back hard in the second race to win the race and take the overall win as well ahead of Toby Deight with Deighton's younger brother Harry taking third place - leading another strong BSA contingent at the top of the age group again. David Christey and William Feneley took places four and five overall, both taking a fourth place in a run to add to their growing reputations.
Megan Jenkins put the frustration of coming out on the first run in the Giant Slalom in sight of the finish behind her as she won both runs in the Under 16 Slalom. Jenkins was just under two seconds in front after the two runs from Erika Heginbotham with Freya Eaton from Ambition in third overall. Francesca Lee and Phoebe Long made up the top five finishers over the two runs after a number of the favoured racers crashed out on the second run.
Robert Poth increased his growing collection of trophies from the season as well as the growing reputation the boy from Potters Bar has with a combined win of over two seconds on the rest of the field in the older age group. Poth took the win ahead of Ollie Davies and Zak Vinter with Milo McLoud and Milo Bastow taking fourth and fifth. It will be good to see the full compliment of Under 16 racers battling it out at the British Championships in April. Poth has been beaten on the odd run this winter so it will be good to see if the likes of Euan Kick and Fraser Buchan can match the speed of the Englishman.
