Wind causes start to come down but still Ligety leads: The first run!

The weather Gods caused the start to be brought down but apart from cutting the top flats off the course, the usual suspects are at the front for the second run: Ted Ligety holds 0.90 second lead over Alexis Pinturault with Marcel Hirscher eight hundredths further back. The rest of the racers are ... over 1.71 seconds back from Ligety. Ligety, speaking to Austrian TV after his run explained that he is "not counting his chickens yet." Nine tenths of a second is a good margin to have but by no means impossible to overturn.

Also in the flip for the second run is Bode Miller, one of only two racers from outside the top thirty starters to make the flip, the other being Thomas Tumler from Switzerland. Tumlet started 34. Roberto Nani and Davide Simoncelli were the two to miss out.

The numbers look like this: Ten nations get racers to the second run with eight ski manufacturers: Head with seven have the most!

With the weather predictions turning a tad nasty, rain is predicted but not until after the race, as the fat lady says, it ain't over until it is over! Start times will be shortened

Second run kicks off at 12.45 CET time
