The purple Dream Team
Milka looks back on a long and successful winter sport tradition, and, this year, the popular chocolate brand is the winter sports sponsor for the 18th time. Alongside the six Milka Ski stars, Milka is looking forward to the upcoming, and very exciting, World Cup, the highlights of which will definitely be the Olympic Winter Games in Sotschi from 7th-23rd February 2014.
The Slovenian Tina Maze is hoping to beat her season of records with another peak performance: With her first win in the Super-G in St. Anton, she positioned herself in the ranks of the few female skiers who have won World Cup races in all five disciplines during their career. After winning the Giant Slalom World Cup for Slovenia for the first time, she finally became a skiing icon for her native fans.
Her German colleague, Maria Höfl-Riesch, is one of the most successful athletes of today. Placing second in the overall World Cup, she won three medals at the World Championships (gold in the Super Combined and 2 bronze in the downhill and the team competition). Maria is hoping to be able to build on her previous year's success in this important Olympic season, and she wants to return home with some Olympic medals, like she did in 2010 (Maria won Slalom and Super Combined at the Olympic Games in Vancouver).
The likeable Austrian, Michaela Kirchgasser, is reflecting on a very successful season at the World Championships in Schladming. She was part of the Austrian team who were the Team World Champions for the second time at the World Championships, and she won the silver medal in the Slalom. With these two medals at the “home”-World Championships in her native Austria, "Kirchi" fulfilled herself a big dream and she is very motivated for the new season.
Last season was also very successful for Tessa Worley from France. With multiple placings on the podium, she proved her strength in "her discipline" of Giant Slalom. Even at the World Championships, it was this discipline in which she excelled: She was world champion in Giant Slalom. She's hoping for success in the Olympics and also hopes to score points in other disciplines throughout the season.
