Taylor wins Welsh Championships GS; Norris best Brit in Men's race

When the clouds lifted and the snow stopped the result was a beautiful day and the opportunity for the racers to put in some strong performances. While the Swiss TD, Peter Bloch, and many of the racers and organisers would have liked a bigger field, at the end of the day the racers here could only beat those in the field. Imogen Taylor put clear daylight between herself and second place, yet she admitted afterwards that she would have liked to have had a bigger gap so as to make a better FIS points result for herself. In the end her lead was nigh on one and three quarters of a second but being the top seed, this was to be expected. Taylor was happy but such is her determination, she wants to be better and go faster. Kieran Norris was the best of the British racers in the men's race, 4th overall, with Ben Fluck the fastest Welsh racer in 24th spot.

There were also some great results by Nia Jenkins, 4th overall and best Welsh girl; Max Baggio was fifth overall in the men's race, James Stevenson sixth and 16 year old Cormac Comerford from Ireland was 9th.

With racers from all ages taking part it was great to see Master's age racers competing against the younger racers as well - would be great to see more racers here next year.

Next up is the Slalom.
