Following confirmation of selection processes, Britain will field its biggest ever Nordic World Cup squad with seven athletes set to compete for the nation this season, including all four members of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games Team GB Cross-Country team.
Last year’s World Cup squad of James Clugnet, Joe Davies, Andrew Musgrave, and Andrew Young have all been reselected, and will be joined by Anna Pryce, Tabitha Williams, and Amelia Wells in a seven-athlete World Cup squad. Pryce and Williams both made their World Cup debuts for Britain last season delivering a succession of impressive performances as Britain reestablished itself in the Women’s Nordic World Cup circuit, while Wells joins the team from the Canadian system for whom she made her own World Cup debut in 2023.
A four-athlete Continental Cup squad sees Beinn Horsfall return from last season’s selections, where he is joined by Thomas Duncan (promoted from Performance Squad), Oliver Sweetman (transfer from Norwegian system), and Ida-Marie Ewald (previously a 2021/22 season Junior Squad selection).
Eight athletes have been selected for the Performance Squad, including professional cyclist Annabel Fisher who is selected into a GB Snowsport squad for the first time, while three have been named in the Junior Squad.
The team will continue to compete on the World Cup circuit as members of Team Aker Daehlie as our relationship with the pro team continues into a fifth season.
Jaz Taylor headlines six-athlete Telemark World Cup squad
Following a season that yielded twelve Telemark World Cup podiums, all for Jasmin Taylor, the team will see Britain’s most successful ever FIS World Cup athlete continue her career alongside five World Cup athletes, Timote Gough, Matthew Deane, Callum Ogelman (a 2026 season World Cup debutant), Hamish Ross, and Colin Dixon.
Also confirmed for selection are six Development Team athletes, with Georgiana Altham, Vilma Bkork-Mann (also a 2026 season World Cup debutant), James Dykes, Joshua Wisbey, and Charles White all confirmed for selection.
The selection processes were all undertaken in spring 2026 and have seen the Telemark team confirm that they will continue to monitor the developments of a number of promising Telemark skiers with a view to future integration into GB Snowsport squads.
Longstanding Freeski World Cup squad member, James Pouch, announces retirement
James Pouch, one of Britain’s longest standing Park & Pipe World Cup skiers, has announced his decision to retire from competition ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Widely recognised for his style and technical strengths, James has made his World Cup debut in January 2020, racking up nine top 30 World Cup finishes across his career, as well as appearing at the 2025 World Championships in St Moritz.
James’ competitive FIS debut came in January 2017 in Waterville, USA, with his first competitive appearance outside of North America coming in a World Cup debut which saw him finish 40th in Slopestyle in Seiseralm, Italy. James broke the World Cup top-30 for the first time three years later in Silvaplana, finishing 22nd in Slopestyle, while his best World Cup result came in the Klagenfurt Big Air competition in January 2025 with a storming 16th place finish.
The 2025/26 season saw James record six World Cup results including two Big Air top 30s in Steamboat in December 2025, where he came 24th, and Tignes in March where he finished in 29th place.
Alongside his competition performances, James has been an integral part of the British Freeski team notably training and competing alongside Chris McCormick, Tom Greenway, and Tyler Harding in the Men’s Park & Pipe Freeski World Cup squad.
Announcing his decision to retire, James said:
“It’s been an incredible time skiing with the team over the years. I’ve seen parts of the world that I otherwise wouldn’t have, met amazing people, and been able to compete with the best skiers out there. I’ve had such a blast travelling, training, competing, and just spending time with the Park & Pipe squad.
“Freeskiing is in a great place right now and I feel really honoured and fortunate to have been a part of the scene for all this time. It’s something that will always be a part of who I am, but I know that it’s the right time for me to step away from competing and focus on my next endeavour.
“I want to say thank you to my family, teammates, coaches, and everyone else who has been a part of the journey, there are certainly a lot. Seven years later and I still can’t believe I’ve had the privilege to do this, I can’t thank everyone enough.”
