Para Alpine GS World Cup - Courchevel
Neil Simpson and Rob Poth took Gold at the second of this week’s Para Alpine World Cup GS races in Courchevel in the Men’s Visually Impaired classification.
From first place in the standings after the first run, Simpson and Poth held a challenging second run together to finish top of the standings and deliver the first British Para Alpine podium of the 2024/25 season.
The pair’s time of 1:45.11 was enough to secure top spot ahead of Johannes Aigner of Austria and Giacomo Bertagnolli of Italy in second and third places respectively, by a margin of 0.13s.
The result marks a superb return to snow for Simpson who was off snow for the majority of last season, and provides an early springboard towards qualification for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.
