Maison Sport announce Funding award for Under 21 alpine racer

Created by three ex members pf the British Alpine Ski Team, Maison Sport are now putting back into the sport. The funding issues are well documented and Maison Sport are now offering a £1,000 bursary to an Under 21 racer, male or female, to be used towards their training and competing on snow.

There are stipulations to the award:

  • Applications are open until the 15th of August 2023 and the winner will be announced on the 27th of August 2023 at the All England Dry Slope Championship.
  • The winner will receive a £1,000 grant for training and racing.
  • Anyone aged 21 or younger who is actively racing on the dry slope circuit in the UK can apply.
  • They have to be registered with Snowsport England, Scotland or Wales.
  • Alpine ski racing only.
  • There will be a judge panel with 5 judges including representatives from Snowsport England and Maison Sport.
  • Only one application per person is allowed.

The founders, Nick and Olly Robinson and Aaron Tipping, all grew up spending their summers racing on dry slopes, before progressing onto the British ski team. The impact this journey has had on their lives has been incredibly positive, and as such they remain within the industry, giving other children the opportunity to follow their path.

Maison Sport now want to make it possible for children with the same drive and passion as them to succeed and grow, which is why this year marks the first year of the Maison Sport grant. The grant will be worth £1,000, and the winner will be able to use this money towards further training and racing.
