Freshwater and Blyth take top spots in U14 GS

In perfect conditions in Tignes, Tia Freshwater and Hamish Blyth posted the fastest combined times to win the girls and boys National Under 14 GS titles respectively. Madison Gilson and Isabella Sullivan joined Freshwater on the girls podium with Matthew Butler and Ryan Faber joining Blyth on the boy's podium.

Freshwater had to use her speed to take the win overall having been third after the first run but had just enough to withhold an immense second run charge by Madison Gilson. Gilson was 1.32 faster than Freshwater on the second run but ended up 0.13 shut of first after the times were added together.

Isabella Sullivan had lead after a great first run but could not keep the momentum going and dropped to third overall. Brooke Baxter was the only one able to stay close to Gilson on the second run but having crashed out on her inside ski on the first run, did not feature in the overall results.

The top five overall saw Lucy Howeson and Keira Tichbon take fourth and fifth.

Hamish Blyth was in a class of his own winning both runs to take a stunning win. Blyth would celebrate winning the title by throwing a back flip off the podium!

Ryan Faber was in second after the first run with Oscar Flight in third but while Blyth raised his game on the second run, it was Mattie Butler who came through to nick second spot from Faber by just 0.19. Jeramie Galmarini posted the third fastest time on the second run and would eventually finish in sixth place overall.

The top five overall were rounded out by Oscar Flight and Jake Leonard.
