In one of the most enthralling schools races of the summer, a strong presence of quality teams from across Britain saw Crickhowell High School comfortably win the girls race and Robert Gordons College win the boys race. The individual races were won by Agatha Favill and Toby Watson.
With teams of four with three on each run to count, the teams had qualified from their own national championships. Crickhowell had their fastest three racers in the top 12 finishers with Reeds school having all four of their racers in the top 23 to finish comfortably ahead of their rivals, Surbiton High School B Team.
In the boys race it was almost total domination by Robert Gordon's as they took three places in the top seven individual finishers, with places five, six and seven, through Grant Melville, Finlay Carry and Blair MacLeod respectively. Norwich School took second, using the time of the individual race winner, Toby Watson backed up by the Snelling brothers, George and Rufus. Third place was taken by Argyle House with Joshua Colling in fourth, their best result.
In the girls race Agatha Favill took op spot ahead of Erin Higgins and Scarlett Winter as Welsh team racers took the top four finishing times, Saskia Henry-Davies was fourth.
The boys race was tight and thrilling as Watson edged out All England Champion Alex pen neck by hundredths on both runs with Adam Cornick third overall.
