Redrow have announced that in conjunction with GB Snowsport and Quinn Estates, they are to be the headline partner of the British Alpine Team for the forthcoming season. With no team sponsor on the race and training kit since 2018-2019 it is great news to hear the support being announced for the British team.
After one of the most successful seasons last season that saw Dave Ryding take third in the Adelboden World Cup Slalom, Billy Major and Laurie Taylor win on the Europa Cup tour with Major going on to win the Europa Cup series and Charlie Guest also win on the Europa Cup tour as well as joining Alex Tilley in scoring World Cup points, this is great news.
As one of the main personal sponsors of British racers over the last few years, Mark Quinn of Quinn Estates explained: “We are delighted to be working with Redrow and GB Snowsport. As long standing supporters of these athletes, Quinn Estates are extremely proud to have introduced an award winning house builder such as Redrow as main partners and look forward to helping an incredibly exciting group to achieve their full potential at the Beijing Olympics.”
Matt Grayson, Group Customer and Marketing Director, added: “Partnering with GB Snowsport is a meeting of minds and there is plenty of crossover in how both organisations think about their people and the views they have regarding sustainability and social responsibility.
“We are proud to be supporting GB Snowsport at such an exciting time ahead of the Winter Games and we wish all its athletes the best of luck in finalising their preparations for Beijing and the culmination of years of hard work.
“Redrow is also excited to help further raise the profile of the various disciplines involved in snowsports and using our many channels to help grow the British fanbase. Quinn Estates, one of our key development partners, has an extensive history of sponsoring GB Snowsport athletes and we are grateful for its recognition of the potential synergies.”
Redrow added on their website 'With more than 11 million snowsport fans in the UK, the potential exposure for our brand is vast and there are plenty of synergies between the organisations, from a focus on promoting high performance to delivering quality results and a wider culture of teamwork, inclusivity and nurturing future talent.
'In addition to exposing our brand to a wide market, it is also hoped the mutually beneficial agreement will help British snowsports reach new audiences and raise awareness of some of the lesser-known disciplines ahead of the Winter Olympics and Paralympics.'
Vicky Gosling, GB Snowsport Chief Executive, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Redrow plc as our new Headline Partner for the Alpine team for the coming season.
“As one fo the country’s largest housebuilding companies, Redrow is at the heart of communities across the country – and it’s communities like those which our athletes will be representing as they compete in the world’s biggest competitions this winter.
“We look forward to having Redrow as part of the team, and I’m confident their support will be a great help in bringing Britain’s Alpine talent to the next level.”
With the exciting buzz around the British team that Dave Ryding talks about in his recent interview with Racer Ready also now being rewarded by sponsorships, a lot is hoped for for all the athletes on the British team this season.
Hopefully this is the first of many new sponsorships for British winter sport in the lead up to the 24th Winter Olympics.
