Bond and Faber take spoils in Anglo Welsh Mini races

It was a close run thing after the first run for the mini girls but Alice Bond raised her game considerably on the second run to take the win in the Anglo Welsh girls mini race with Grace Cameron second and Harriet Scoular and Hannah Todd sharing third place. In the boys race Ryan Faber was fastest on both runs ahead of Grant Messenger and Alex McDonald.

With both races being run to the format of two runs with the fastest time to count, there was little to choose from the first four in the girls race after the first run, just five hundredths separated them. After the second run, while Bond had gone significantly quicker, the gap between Grace Cameron in second and Brooke Baxter, who finished fifth, remained just five hundredths with all four of the athletes in places two to five unable to better their times on the second run.

Ryan Faber was fastest on both runs in the boys race giving a thoroughly professional performance to take the race win. Grant Messenger attacked on the second run and was closer but could not live with the pace Faber had set.

Alex McDonald, Freddie Webb and Adam Orzel in places three, four and five all went quicker on their second runs pushing Harri Hodson out of the top five finishers.

Aaron McDonald took the top Under 10 place in the boys while Lowri Howie was the fastest Under 10 girl.
