Time for the Under 10 and Under12 racers to take centre stage

With the Under 14 and Under 16 racers having completed the speed days, it was time for the Under 12 and Under 10 racers to take centre stage at the English Alpine Championships. The Stella Alpina slope was the venue for the Giant Slalom with the results based on the best time from two runs.

In the Under 10 girls race, Emily Magnani took the fastest time on both runs to take the win with her fastest time coming from run one. Isabel Sadler took second fastest time with Alice Bond taking third as none of the leading racers were able to improve on the their times from the first run. Lowri Howie and Amelia Pietrzak rounded out the top five.

The Under 12 race saw Katie Saunders hold off the rest of the field with Isobel Nowell and Molly Shorey sharing second place. Shorey was the faster on the first run before Nowell matched her time on the second run. Cassandra Nicholls and Holly Tutt rounded out the top five finishers.

Joshua Sundin took the race win in the Under 10 race with Ryan Faber in second ahead of Rufus Wontner. Charlie Saunders and Izaac Ellison rounded out the top five in a strong field.

Brothers Freddy and Zac Carrick-Smith battled out for the top spot in the Under 12 race with Freddy fastest on run one and Zac faster on run two. Freddy ended up a quarter of a second ahead of his twin brother to take the race win. Dante Vidre took third. The top five was rounded out by Yousef Radwan and Oli Laughland.
