The first of the forays into Europe for the BASS races saw some encouraging results from across the age groups. With entry level races for young BASS racers at a premium, these were attractive races for those starting out on their BASS racing careers.
Day one saw Isabella Tomkinson take the lead after the first run in the Under 14 girls race before Grace Bennett came storming back in the second to take the combined win. Isabella Wakeford was third on both runs.
In the boys Under 14 race Jacob Sundin took the fastest British racer on both runs ahead of Jacob Bush and Daniel Hutchings. All the racers were given a wake up call as to the standards being reached by the international entry.
Emily McLeish took the fastest time in the Under 16 girls on both runs with Maisie Jefferson and Summer Spendlove finishing on the podium with her.
Aiden Urquhart took the spoils in the Under 16 boys with a comfortable win ahead of James Willis and George Williams.
In the Open Women’s race Zoe Dare took the win ahead of Michelle Bacon with Lilyella Stevens in third.

Day one ended with a Pro Slalom and Charlotte Warne took fastest time in the Women’s race ahead of Zoe Dare and Grace Bennett. Alex Molliex put the disappointment of straddling in the first run of the slalom out of his head by winning the Men’s race ahead of Aiden Urquhart and David Williams-Gravener.

Day two in Landgraaf dawned and Grace Bennett set her stall out with fastest time on both runs. Bennett will be a force to be reckoned with this winter if she can continue improving as the summer and season develops. Isabella Tomkinson took second fastest on both runs while third place was shared by Cordelia Stevens in race one and Isabella Wakeford in the second run. Stevens took third place overall after Wakeford had crashed out on the first run.
Jacob Sundin again posted the best of the British racers in the Under 14 British boys on both runs. Behind him there was a fierce battle as Jacob Bush and Ryan Bunton took the podium spots in the first race but with Spencer Ciloglu Can and Harvey Stanley on the podium in run two. Ciloglu Can taking second on combined time with Bush third, Harvey fourth and Bunton fifth.
Charlotte Warne took the Under 16 race win on day ahead of Emily McLeish and Maisie Jefferson.
