The run is over but the desire and fight remains for Ryding

With every gate the pressure mounted in keeping his super impressive run going. At every race this World Cup season, Dave Ryding had scored World Cup points. It was a run that had started after crashing out in Kitzbuehel in 2016, at the previous split, he had held the race lead, even after Henrik Kristoffersen and Marcel Hirscher had been down. Since then he had placed second in Kitzbuehel in 2017, scored top tens in Levi, Zagreb and Stockholm and become a national hero to the skiing world. When he straddled in Kranjska Gora, the goal of matching his hero, Alain Baxter, in scoring World Cup points in every round of the season, was over for 2016 - 2017.
