It was a race that had so many permutations at the outset and then saw racers losing time on the second run. In the end younger brother of Mario Matt took his first World Cup win ahead of first run leader Stefano Gross with Felix Neureuther taking third. The talk of the day was the run by Patrick Thaler who rose from 28th after the frist run to hold the lead until Andre Myhrer came down from eighth.
