Artemis British Ski Academy races conclude

Four days of racing, hiccups, laughter, sweat and some great hope for the future of British racing saw the end of the opening races of the winter season. With the selections for the next set of International races coming from these races as well as the forthcoming Ambition races. Rumour has it the two sets of races will run at the same time in 2017 so that those on the French side of the alps can do the BSA races and those on the Austrian side of the alps will do the Leogang races. 

Siena Horton took the fight to Daisi Daniels in the first race of the U14 Girls race before Daniels upped her game and blew the rest of the field away with a stunning second run, winning it by over two seconds. Anna Caldwell took third in the first race while Grace Anderson took third in the second run. Rebecca Chastney and Anderson were fourth and fifth respectively in the first run while Chastney and Caldwell took fourth and fifth in the second run. The top five overall saw Daniels win, Horton second, Anderson, third, Chastney and Caldwell taking fourth and fifth.

Diaco Abrishami and Joseph Christey shared the race wins in the U14 Boys races. Robert Holmes and Calum Langmuir joined Abrishami on the podium in the first race while Abrishami took second in the second run with Langmuir taking third. Abrishami, Christey and Langmuir were the one two three in the Overall with Robert Holmes and Elliott Bennett taking top five placings overall with consistent finishing in both races.

Alicja Krahelski made it a clean sweep of the races in the U16 Girls  races with her fourth comfortable win in the second GS. Hannah Loeffen-Gallagher did her best to challenge but Krahelski had just too much to stay out ahead. Lucy Bingle-Williams took third place, ahead of the best of the younger year group of racers, Izabelle Cooper, sister of Yasmin Cooper. Hannah Gray rounded out the top five racers.

In the boys U16 race, Owen Vinter held on by just five hundredths for the win after a stunning second run charge by Charlie Luke. Tom Hudson took third place with Scott Waitt and Matthew Heginbotham taking fourth and fifth Overall.
