On Sunday, 20 November 2016, Fritz Dopfer crashed training in the Zillertal and has fractured his and calf bone fracture on the left lower leg. The 29-year-old has already been successfully operated by Prof. Dr. Christian Fink, in consultation with the DSV team doctors, in the private clinic of Hochrum near Innsbruck. "The operation went very well," says Prof. Fink after the one-hour operation, in which the shinbone was stabilized by means of a nail.
