Alexis Pinturault of France won the opening giant slalom World Cup race in Soelden in style, ahead of Austria’’s Marcel Hirscher and Germany’s Felix Neureuther. The Frenchman was only 0.17 seconds ahead of Hirscher after the first run but extended it to an impressive 0.7 seconds. It was the Head skier’s first win in Soelden.
